A bill to control how children of public officials enroll in schools outside of Nigeria has been requested by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

At the Tuesday in Yenagoa-organized solidarity rally organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Prof. Kingdom Tombra, Chairman of the University of Niger Delta University Wilberforce Island chapter of the union, announced as much.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the NLC organized the statewide rally in support of the ASUU and its member unions in response to the ongoing strike at Nigeria’s public institutions.

By creating strong educational institutions, this will increase Nigeria’s university funding and help to create a better society. We are fully dedicated to this struggle since it is not against the government but rather the working class and the ruling class.

He claimed that at the nationwide solidarity protest, both workers and students are represented. Ndiomu pleaded with the federal government to accept the revised text of the agreement between ASUU and the federal government.
