Buhari: International Group Wants To Destroy Nigeria

In Kano State on Monday, during a lunch hosted in his honor at Government House, Buhari, who came to power in 2015 on the promise of fighting insurgency as a former military general, voiced the worries.

The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has questioned the origins of the Boko Haram insurgency, adding that it appears that there are foreign forces out to destroy Nigeria.

In Kano State on Monday, during a lunch hosted in his honor at Government House, Buhari, who came to power in 2015 on the promise of fighting insurgency as a former military general, voiced the worries.

He claimed that some foreign individuals were suspected of being a part of a plot to destabilize the nation by employing Boko Haram.

On December 31, 1983, Buhari led a coup d’état that resulted in the overthrow of an elected president. Buhari said, “It is sad that Boko Haram prevented the government from using its wealth in the Lake Chad Basin. We have demonstrated to Nigerians and the rest of the world how abundant our natural resources are.

 

Out of the 27 local governments in Borno State, he remembered how Boko Haram rebels had taken over 17 of them.

 

Boko Haram controlled half of Yobe State. If not, how can Western education be considered haram? I feel there is a worldwide organization that wants to destroy Nigeria. He asked.

 

“We struggle against the groups attempting to ruin Nigeria for our land, but we are really fortunate. I am grateful for the support Nigerians have given me; we share a common identity, he continued.
