Javier Hernandez offers to play for Man Utd for free

Javier Hernandez, a former striker for Manchester United, has maintained he would play for free if he ever made a comeback to Old Trafford.

Hernandez, who spent five years with the Reds after being signed by Sir Alex Ferguson and won two Premier League championships there, has not been shocked by United’s dramatic decline in the nine years since his former manager resigned.

The 34-year-old Mexican forward has helped LA Galaxy jump to the top of the MLS Western Conference and is eyeing another championship trophy while new manager Erik ten Hag desperately hunts for a new striker.

However, Chicharito acknowledged that he still has a soft spot in his heart for United.

If United came after me, I would say, “Yes, I’ll play for free,” Hernandez stated. You know, I’d do that without a doubt.

But I also want to show my club a lot of respect. My mentality is focused entirely on the LA Galaxy winning a championship, and I am playing very consistently.

“If things happen in the future, then they will happen, but in my mind, I am completely with LA.”

Hernandez’s success at United started to wane once Ferguson departed the team in 2013; a year later, after David Moyes was dismissed as manager by Louis van Gaal, he was loaned to Real Madrid.

He subsequently played with Cristiano Ronaldo for the next season.

According to Hernandez, United were destined to fall once Ferguson went, and despite spending the summer pushing for a transfer, Ten Hag can still benefit from Ronaldo’s goals this season.

Tomorrow night’s MLS matchup against the Liga MX squad from Mexico will be captained by Hernandez, who said: “United need to move past Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.

Of course, there will always be players who want to join Manchester United.

“Who do you chose if another team can provide the Champions League? You select the team that is best for your career.

Currently, United is going through the same thing as Liverpool did when I was living in England.

“I can therefore understand what is going on with Ronaldo.

But what if Ronaldo stays and scores 40 goals? Only time will tell what will happen with him. That might occur.
