The legendary Liverpool player is thrilled to be back in action after being sacked at Villa Park.

Steven Gerrard, the former manager of Premier League team Aston Villa, has accepted a new position.

The Villians fired Gerrard following a disappointing start to the season that finished with a 3-0 loss to Leeds United.

After taking over for Dean Smith in November 2021, he worked at Villa Park for slightly under a year.

Although Villa has now moved on to former Arsenal manager Unai Emery, the 42-year-old is back at work.

The Liverpool icon has signed a contract with the online portal M88 Mansion in advance of Qatar hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

Throughout the World Cup, Gerrard will serve as a marketing ambassador for the bookmakers.

Speaking about the agreement, Gerrard emphasized his happiness and his want to interact with Asian supporters.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Gerrard remarked, “I am thrilled to join M88 Mansion as their brand ambassador for the World Cup.

“I couldn’t be more eager to share my insights and opinions with the Asian sports enthusiasts about the next World Cup,” the athlete exclaimed.

The job description for Gerrard, according to the firm, is to “concentrate on strengthening the company’s presence in the Southeast Asian market.

The former Premier League player will also interact with local sports and soccer fans via digital platforms and a range of promotional initiatives catered to local tastes.

English professional football manager and former player Steven George Gerrard MBE was most recently in charge of Premier League team Aston Villa (born 30 May 1980). The majority of his playing career was spent as a central midfielder for Liverpool and the England national team, with Gerrard serving as both teams’ captain. He was hailed by experts and other professionals as one of his generation’s finest players.

From 1998 through 2015, Merseyside-native Steven Gerrard represented Liverpool and won nine titles, including the UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups, and three League Cups. In both the 2006 FA Cup Final, which has been dubbed The Gerrard Final in honor of his performance, and the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final, in which Liverpool overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat AC Milan on penalties, he was named Man of the Match. Despite winning cup games, he was never the Premier League champion. Between 2000 and 2014, Gerrard earned 114 England caps, led the team 38 times, and scored 21 goals. He participated in three FIFA World Cups—2006, 2010, and 2014—as well as three UEFA European Championships—2000, 2004, and 2012—where he was named to the tournament’s All-Star Team.

Before beginning his senior managerial career with Scottish Premiership club Rangers in 2018, Gerrard managed the under-18 team for the Liverpool Youth Academy. Gerrard’s team went undefeated in the league to win Rangers’ first league title in ten years during his third full season in charge. He took over as manager of Aston Villa in November 2021, but after just 11 months he was fired due to a string of unsuccessful matches.

He won the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in 2006, the Football Writers Association Footballer of the Year award in 2009, was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2007, and will be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2021. A record eight times were he included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. He was recognized by PFA Scotland and the SFWA as Manager of the Year for 2021.
