Martin Odegaard has been named as Arsenal’s new captain.

Prior to today’s Emirates Cup match against Sevilla, Martin Odegaard has been chosen the new men’s first team captain of Arsenal.

We are pleased to announce that Martin Odegaard has been named our new men’s first-team captain, according to a statement on the club’s website.

Since joining Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid in January 2021, initially on loan, the 23-year-old has had a significant effect, playing 60 times and scoring nine goals.

With 43 caps for Norway, for whom he has served as captain since March 2021, Odegaard has experience holding the position of leadership.

“We wish Martin luck in his new role as our captain. More information on the appointment will be available here after today’s game.

After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was demoted from the position in December of last year, Alexandre Lacazette took over as Arsenal’s top leader, but the Gunners didn’t formally name a new club captain. Now that Lacazette is no longer at the club following his free transfer to Lyon, Odegaard – who has captained the team on numerous occasions – will take on duties on a full-time basis.

Kieran Tierney was seen as the second leading prospect, however Mikel Arteta’s decision may have been influenced by his terrible injury history.

Odegaard, who is only 23 years old, is already the captain of Norway, and he plans to use his leadership skills to take Arsenal to new heights.
