Portable in trouble with the Police over his claim of forming a notorious cult group

Nigeria uprising songwriter and multi-talented  musician Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable (omolalomi) the musician who was born on 12th of March 12, 1994 was said to have shared a video of himself on social media where he claimed he established the notorious cult group; ajah boys and one million boys, although the video has since been deleted.

In the now deleted video, he was seen saying; “Open your ears and hear me; have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys? I’m their founder, go and ask Sammy Larry,” he boasted while speaking in his native language Yoruba. The 28 years musician (Portable) is known to be a carefree guy who says whatever he likes on the social media as this is not the first time he will be saying such. He once threatened to kill if headies gives his award to any other person aside him, though he later apologized after the convener of the award reported him to the Nigeria Police Force.

The  notorious one million boys was said to have disrupt the peace of Lagos State and its neighbor state during the compulsory total lockdown in 2020 in order to protect covid-19.  Amid the criticism sparked by Portable’s remark, the police described the singer’s statement as indicting.

Reacting to this story, the Inspector General of Police, Baba Usman, has directed authorities of the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the claim and ensure necessary legal action was taken.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the police chief’s directive in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), explained that the move was in line with the police drive to identify sponsors of cult groups and curb the activities of the criminals in the country.

“Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action,” the force spokesman said.

“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”

This story had generated many argument between people on the social media and this does not exclude people in the entertainment industry, Nigeria nollywood actors Remi Surutu , Yomi Solade had warned the Zazzu Crooner , Habeeb Okikiola to stop desist from unchallent attitude most especially on social media as this could land him in the prison.

Also a facebook user named Patience Ized, said this guy nor get person wey dey advise am. His mouth would land him in big trouble one day. So as god decided to show you mercy now, you don’t want to take it easy with yourself. E be like say you wan go back to the street.

Also Kwaghdoo Chihintor said this one, I have no words for him. Butterfly thinking himself like a bird. It does not even stop there as innocent Kelly also lambasted Portable by saying , I don’t even know what’s wrong with this  portable of a guy imagine portable do this  portable do that. Why can’t him just respect his self for once he just like getting into different trouble. Well, I won’t blame him he should be thanking God for the mercy he shower upon him because by now i believe he would have be picking….  Thank goodness i didn’t complete it. Also facebook user Motunrayo Morenikeji M chip in her own idea by saying He likes wahala from day one, he never calm down and give himself peace of mind never…… Wahala na him be his second name I no just under if to say na like this other musician dey do will they make it…after they don help am now na wahala he dey cause up and down, may God help him.

Dela Naija said Portable can’t make another hit since he was helped by Olamide and Poco Lee to be in limelight. and lastly an annoynous said on his timeline that Portable his now only using vauwlence to maintain. No problem. Keep up, man must survive any how. But hopefully you don’t get into great problems. May God help you Amen. Portable is a disgrace to music industry. its a pity,Portable in trouble with the Police over his claim of forming a notorious cult group.

 

Portable came to the limelight last December following the release of his hit song, ‘Zazu Zeh’, in which he featured top artiste and record label boss, Olamide. He has since then beign in the limelight and has released several other songs.

Just last month, the singer was declared wanted by the police authorities in neighbouring Ogun over a trending video clip that showed Portable directing some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.

The incident which occurred around mid-June was said to have taken place somewhere in the Ilogbo area of Ogun State. The police are still investigating this incident and we await the result of their investigation.
