This year, from June through October, the Capital One City Parks Foundation, an independent non-profit in New York, USA, will organize its yearly outdoor music event under the name “SummerStage.” On August 13th, 2022, they will present an Afrobeat performance in the Bronx, New York.

One of the most well-liked, widely accessible, free outdoor performing arts festivals in New York, the festival offers free live performances in all genres.

Shatta Wale, a reggae-dancehall artist from Ghana, Wiyaala, Dj Freshyk, and a host of other African and worldwide music icons are among the headliners for the August 13 concert

The 2022 season of SummerStage will carry on the tradition of bringing together some of the most prominent musical figures in the world who embody a variety of musical genres and cultural offerings, including jazz, hip hop, Latin, global, indie, and contemporary dance.

Erika Elliott, the Executive Artistic Director of SummerStage, made the following statement in a formal news release:

“For more than three decades, we have been honored to call New York our home. It is the epitome of a global metropolis. Salsa, jazz, and hip-hop are particularly New York genres, along with indie, reggae, Afrobeat, soul, modern dance, and a lot more, that are presented at local neighborhood parks as part of SummerStage.

We transform neighborhood parks into lively, open performance venues. There is simply no better place to enjoy music than here, at this famous location, among the trees. Come see live performances by renowned musicians and uncover tomorrow’s stars at the event.
