In Lagos, thugs break into a Catholic church and cart away PVC registration machines.

A group of thugs broke into St. Bridget Catholic Church in Surulere, Lagos, stole voting machines, and prevented Independent National Electoral Commission workers from registering voters for permanent voter cards (PVC).

The parish priest of the church reportedly shut the building as of the time of filing this news, causing those who came outside to register to flee for safety.

An anonymous local told Vanguard that the thugs barged into the polling place and warned people they wouldn’t be able to register because they wouldn’t support their (the thugs’) candidate.

He said they removed certain registration items and destroyed INEC materials.

He continued, “Police have been mobilized to the area to prevent additional law and order breakdown.”
